Chapter 2
As teachers, I think we can all agree on the importance of the standards. They give us a guide to follow to create a well rounded education for our students. The goal for standardized education is to ensure that all students are given a fair and equal opportunity to get an education. Standardized eduction is not just for the benefit of students. Standardized teaching methods will help ensure that only strong and dedicated teachers are allowed to teach. In the past teachers were rewarded not based on their performance but the years they have worked. With the transition to these new educational standards comes a transition of teacher evaluations that will allow the administration at a school determine that teachers are improving children's' lives, and what teachers are there to get a paycheck every week. As No Child Left Behind is on its way out and Common Core is on its way in; it will be critical for educators to learn these new standards and change the way they teach students. I believe a transition to the new standards were required and the students will be getting a better education because of them.
